DESCRIPTION:This afternoon introduction to calling contra dances is for all dancers\, musicians\, or wanna-be callers. If you’ve ever wondered what it might be like to be a dance caller\, here is your chance to find out more\, and give it a try. \n\n\n\nPlease RSVP to allbrandt@cox.net so we know how many to expect. \n\n\n\nSome of the topics we will cover: how dance music is structured\, how dances fit the music\, placing calls in time to the music\, the importance of the walk through\, and how to choose dances to call. \n\n\n\nEven if you don’t plan to get in front of the microphone\, you’re welcome to come learn more about the caller’s job. It could even improve your dancing or dance-playing skills! \n\n\n\nTo practice calling\, we’ll need dancers! Invite your friends to come dance with us from 4:00pm to 6:00pm–– no cost! \n\n\n\nCome for the workshop\, stay for the dance starting at 7:30pm.
